Massage Schedule: (Must be available to work this schedule)
Monday 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Tuesday 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Wednesday 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Friday 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
*Plus additional hours, on call, as warranted and special events throughout the season.

Massage Therapist Requirements: 
Must have prior experience and ability to perform Swedish, Deep Tissue, Hot Stone, Aromatherapy massages, and body treatments. 

 

Summary

Massage Therapists treat clients by using touch to manipulate the soft-tissues of the body. With their touch, Massage Therapists relieve pain, help rehabilitate injuries, improve circulation, relieve stress, increase relaxation, and aid in the general wellness of clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides outstanding service to our members and their guests in a professional and courteous manner. Welcomes clients to the Spa and engages them in conversation to confirm services and preferences.
  • Performs massage therapy and touch modalities to include Deep Tissue, Sport, Swedish, Aromatherapy, Prenatal and body treatments.
  • Determines treatment based on individual problems and needs. Develops a treatment plan that will provide maximum benefit to the client. Provides massage therapy based on treatment that has been determined.
  • Explains massage procedures and provides information about oils and creams used during the massage. Recommends products offered by the Spa.
  • Ensures all services and treatments are carried out according to regulatory and Club standards.
  • Provide clients with guidance on stretching, strengthening, and overall relaxation.
  • Use aids, such as infrared lamps, hot stones, wet compresses, ice, and whirlpool baths in order to promote clients' recovery, relaxation and well-being.
  • Keeps current of industry trends and education. Shares new program ideas to Spa Manager.
  • Maintains the treatment rooms in a neat and professional manner including stocking of products and linens, cleaning and instrument sterilization. Replaces linens on tables so that the room is ready and stocked for the next client.
  • Documents and records each spa service on member cards by end of shift for the day.

Other Functions

  • Presents a professional and well groomed appearance. Company issued name tag and uniforms must be worn at all times. Uniform must be laundered and pressed.  
  • Maintains a constructive attitude and add toward a quality work environment.
  • Attends training classes and product learning sessions as requested.
  • Assists with opening and closing procedures. Inspects all rooms for cleanliness and appearance.
  • Assists with folding and stocking of all linens utilized throughout the spa.
  • Attends staff meetings as requested by Spa Manager.
  • Complies with attendance rules and follows schedule as posted. Arrives thirty (30) minutes prior to scheduled work time. May be required to stay beyond work schedule as needed.
  • Participates in testing of spa services; including written and practical testing.
  • Notifies Spa Manager when spa supplies are needed.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

One year certificate from college or technical school; two years' massage experience in upscale resort or private country club, preferred.  

 

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

Computer Skills

  • Basic Computer Skills.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Current State of Florida Professional License.
  • CPR/AED Certification preferred.

 

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Must understand and believe in the healing benefits of massage therapy and bodywork.
  • High level of professionalism.
  • Team player.
  • Detail oriented to the point of understanding the requirement and preferences of the members and guests.
