Delivers The Ibis Experience for Members and guests by developing world-class tennis and Pickleball coaching programs and events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports the Director of Athletics in the overall management of the Tennis Department.
  • Under the guidance of the Director of Athletics, develops the Ibis tennis and Pickleball coaching method and philosophy that is based on the fundamentals of development.
  • Implements an Ibis teaching certification program for department professionals.
  • Supervises and develops teaching professionals to ensure Ibis coaching method is consistently applied.
  • Develops and actively promotes new tennis and Pickleball events and tournaments.
  • Prepares monthly reports and responsible for adhering to the departmental budgetary guidelines.
  • With guidance from the Director of Athletics, prepares an annual departmental business plan and reports variances on a monthly basis.
  • Provides private lesson instruction, clinics, and team practices for Members and guests.
  • Responsible for the supervision of the tennis professionals in the oversight of the ladies' team tennis programs.
  • As an ambassador of Ibis, hosts and attends tennis and Pickleball events to promote the sports inside and outside the Ibis community.

  • Monitors and evaluates tennis and Pickleball programs and events, recommending and implementing enhancements as needed.
  • Enforces all Club rules and regulations, including the Dress Code Policy.
  • Address Member and guest concerns in a timely fashion, informing the Director of Athletics of any matters requiring additional attention.
  • Participates in continuing education to maintain awareness of industry and coaching trends and to further develop personal skills and teaching abilities.

Supervisory Responsibility

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced teaching skills.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
